Three questions per window
Which way does it face?
Newcastle light comes at a house from two directions, hard off the sea in the morning, hot from the west all afternoon, so that's where we start. Answer three questions and the finder places your window on the openness scale, calls the mechanism, and builds a list you can bring to the free measure. It recommends a direction and a reason, never a price; the measure confirms everything.
01 Which room is it? (optional, it labels your list)
02 Which way does it face, or what does it look at?
03 What should this window do best?
04 Kids or pets in reach of this window?

Your window list
The list rides along in your enquiry message, editable before you send. These are directions to check at the measure, not a quote.
The interactive finder needs JavaScript, but the logic behind it is no secret. Read your window off this table, then send the enquiry with the rooms and directions in the message.
| The window's job | Fabric direction | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Dark for sleep | Blockout roller, fitted tight or oversized | The fit decides the darkness as much as the fabric. |
| Tame the glare | Light-filter roller | Bright room, soft light. On east coastal glass, fade-rated fabric. |
| Cut the heat | Blockout or honeycomb | West glass is a heat problem first; honeycomb insulates at the glass. |
| Privacy from outside | Light-filter + blockout dual roller | Translucent fabrics flip at night; the blockout layer answers the evening. |
| Keep the view | Sheer, or sheer + blockout dual | The open weave keeps the outlook; add blockout where the room sleeps. |
Kids or pets in reach of any window: ask for cordless or motorised control, and know that any chain must be restrained in a high-fixed tensioner under the Australian child-safety rules.
What the finder is, and isn't
It's the first five minutes of our measure visit, made self-serve: the questions we'd ask standing at your window, and the same directions we'd sketch on the quote pad. It is not a price, a fabric brand, or a promise, window sizes, reveals and samples against your actual glass settle those, which is what the free measure is for. If the finder and our measurer ever disagree, the measurer wins; they can see the window.
